On with the actual review…
I was not expecting to feel the way I did about this book. I came for what I believed would be a satirical take on religious fundamentalism, I stayed for the religious insight. Although the book did deliver on the satire (especially in the earlier chapters) the book deepened with each chapter. I really value Jacobs' vulnerability and curiosity throughout the whole process. I learned a lot about faith and spirituality and I have numerous passages highlighted for further thinking. The people Jacobs met with and his reflections on the bible will stay with me for a long time.
