Saddened to learn that instead of a heart felt testimony to human resilience, Raynor and Moth (aka Sally and Tim Walker) were actually criminals on the run after stealing well over £100k from family and friends. My initial thoughts was this books was fictional, I was right. My original review below:
—
A Jaw-Dropping True Story. I'll admit, the first chapter had me skeptical - that is, until I discovered this wasn't fiction. My. Mind. Blown.
A Triumphant Testament to the Human Spirit. Moth and Ray's poignant journey, marked by struggles with homelessness, left an indelible mark on me. Their story transcends circumstance, illuminating the very essence of existence.
Masterful Storytelling, Brought to Life. Ray's writing shines with insightful wit, perfectly balanced by somber reflection. Anne Reid's narration was the ideal complement, fully immersing me in the lives of Moth and Ray; bringing each and every character to life.
Exceeding Expectations. I approach each book with a 5-star mindset, deducting for any shortcomings. Remarkably, this book surpassed my lofty expectations, earning a well-deserved perfect score. It's a treasure I'll revisit, and I eagerly look forward to reading more from Ray's pen.
