Lovely book on the art of stillness.
One complaint for me is that this book felt too easily understood. Counterintuitive for most genres but, personally, when reading zen for philosophy, I like to be confused and have the confusion of a story sit with me for many hours. Then, when I'm least expecting have an epiphany. It's this intangible aspect that gives zen philosophy it's depth. I hear your retort already "But this is an introductory book?! A novella to wet the appetite!". If this was so, where were the practical applications average person? How can the single working mother find time for a hour of meditation?
This complaint, however, does not detract from the timely and beautifully simple message of the book. Be still.
