This collection was too intellectual for me. The poet clearly is exceptionally skilled but the poems themselves felt over engineered. There are some absolutely beautiful poems in this collection ("Mother" is a personal favourite) but a lot felt more like a puzzle than a poem.
As a result of this, I found a lot of the ideas and visuals difficult to form in my mind as the narrative felt disjointed.
Nonetheless there were still some gems in this collection and the poet eloquently showcased her skill in the craft. I will likely be buying this collection when it is published.
